After earning a degree in English (LLCE) from the University of Tours, Lisa Chetteau turned to comics, enrolling in the Text/Image Master’s program with a specialization in comics at the EESI in Angoulême. A member of the micro-publishing collective Les Siffleurs since 2014, she has contributed to the collective works Fabulatores Animalia and Féminités Monstrueuses.
She has also participated in various fanzines, including the Berlin-based Good for Nothing Comics and the horror anthology Nuit Noire, edited by Anne-Perrine Couët.
In 2019, she collaborated with her sister, Margaux Chetteau, illustrating the two-volume work David Bowie, Rainbow Man, written by Jérôme Soligny and published by Gallimard.
In 2023, she published her first full-length comic, Mes quatorze ans, with Gallimard Bande Dessinée, scripted by Lucie Mikaelian and Jeanne Boezec. In 2025, she contributed to a collective comic book dedicated to The Cure, published by Petit à Petit.
In late August 2026, she published Beauvoir Made in America with Gallimard, a critically and publicly acclaimed graphic novel about Simone de Beauvoir’s journey through the United States, for which Lisa created the artwork.
She is currently developing several new projects, further expanding her body of work in contemporary comics.
