Composer, producer, orchestrator, mixer, and multi-instrumentalist, Pablo Ortiz Afrikian has been active in film scoring for several years.
Trained for over fifteen years at the Conservatoire de Paris—notably in percussion, piano, guitar, composition, and orchestration—and holding a degree in film music composition, he has developed an eclectic musical language shaped by his travels, constant curiosity, and a deep interest in sonic experimentation. His work, both sensitive and daring, is marked by a strong narrative dimension.
From his studio, where he composes, produces, and mixes all of his projects, he explores a wide range of musical styles, drawing inspiration from both Hollywood cinema and European art-house film. His approach centers on crafting scores that are intimately connected to the images and the creative vision of the directors and producers he collaborates with.
He has contributed to more than fifty audiovisual projects, ranging from animation and narrative short films to documentaries, commercials, and video games. Several of his works have been officially selected and awarded at festivals including Paris Courts Devant (2025, 2026), the Nikon Film Festival, LYFF, the Hollywood International Golden Age Festival, and Gérardmer.
He also composes for live performance and multidisciplinary events, most recently for the exhibition Programme sans Programme presented at the Rens Lipsius Studio in Paris.
