Born and raised in the vibrant, multicultural suburbs of Paris, Jazon is a French artist with a global sound that reflects his deep connection to Brazilian music and American soul-funk sounds.
He began his musical journey at just 10 years old, and by 14, he had already fallen in love with Brazilian culture, performing in local rodas. At 18, Jazon moved to New York, where he honed his craft playing in Harlem clubs and subway stations. His career took a major leap when he met the iconic Seu Jorge and had the opportunity to perform with him at the legendary Blue Note NYC. Seu Jorge’s bass player, Joey Altruda, went on to produce Jazon’s debut album, a project that brought together some of Brazil’s top musicians and was mixed by the legendary Mario Caldato Jr., with contributions from songwriters Rogê, Gabriel Moura and Pretinho da Serrinha.
Jazon’s music is a fusion of Afro-Brazilian influences, 1970s and 1980s soul, funk, and disco, all woven together with his own modern twist. He sings in both English and Portuguese, drawing inspiration from artists like Curumin, Seu Jorge, Tim Maia, Jorge Ben, Prince, and D’Angelo. Always evolving, Jazon travels the world to study, collaborate, and bring new flavors into his music, crafting a sound that is both timeless and forward-thinking.
